FONDART project 2025

Geoarte

«Enhancing natural cultural tourism through an artistic and craft perspective on the rock formations of the Aysén Region».

The GEOARTE project, funded by the National Fund for Cultural and Artistic Development FONDART (Regional Cultures line, Cultural Tourism Promotion category, 2025 call), consists of the creation of 10 artworks and 9 craft design pieces.

GEOARTE takes as its reference the rock formations of the Aysén Region, highlighting three important geosites: Cerro Castillo, Capilla de Mármol and Piedra Clavada. As an innovative strategy to promote natural cultural tourism and heritage conservation, it brings together the artistic perspective, craft design and the geosites.

Each of the creators, through her own techniques, conveys the magnificence and the sense of contemplation of these geosites, their shape, texture and colour, in works and products that lead us to their interpretation, giving these places the importance and value they deserve.
